A serving table is a useful addition to a dining room. Not only does it offer storage space, it provides an extra serving area when you are entertaining. These also make excellent dessert tables when you have a dinner party.
White or light colored walls will make the room look larger, while if you have a particularly large room, darker colors can make it appear more intimate. Try to cut back on very bright primary colors: it is fine to have one brightly colored wall if the others match with a more muted pastel shade, but too much color is not usually recommended for a dining room.
Choose the Right Area Rug- An area rug can quickly become the centerpiece to any formal dining room. Make sure you choose a rug that compliments the wall coverings and decorations, but also one that is approximately three feet larger than the table itself. This will avoid the back legs of the chair from going off the rug when the chairs are slid backwards.
