Having had the right items, it's time to choose the styles to apply to it. You may choose the Victorian, contemporary, modern or the traditional; still you may want to mix and match. The designers recommend that in order to incorporate alternate design inspirations, 75% be one style while 25% is the other for the best decor of your dining.
Color Palette: Do not assume that because a color is your favorite, it will also look good on the walls of the dining room or create a harmonious whole with the dining room furniture. Also, when choosing a color palette, understand that what looks good in the day in natural light may not necessarily look as good or even look the same in artificial light. In general, colors such as reds, oranges and yellows work to create a more formal atmosphere while colors such as golden or creamy yellow, terracotta, wine, burgundy or dusty rose are considered ideal for a dining room. These colors are said to stimulate the appetite and also have been shown to promote enjoyable conversation.
Finally, you may want to consider going with a bistro table for your dining room table and chairs. Going with a taller table can give your eating area the appearance of having more floor space than it really does. It also sets the dining area off from the rest of the living area since it is at a different height visually. Just be sure you go with barstools or taller chairs that have an open design to further enhance the illusion of space and openness. As you can see, it's quite easy to add a nice dining area in any home, even one with a small space, as long as you use a few of the tricks savvy designers have at their disposal.
It is important to coordinate the fabrics and textures that are used in a dining room. Tablecloths, placemats, napkins, wall hangings and bamboo rugs can all bring texture and depth to a dining room's decorations. Making sure that these textures are not identical will help keep your room visually interesting. It is important to using complimentary colors and styles to keep your room blending well. A dining room should have a sense of harmony even when using differing textures and materials.
In many dollhouses, the dining room is one of the more elegant rooms. Dining rooms most commonly showcase a pretty wood color, such as mahogany, oak, or pecan; armchairs and high chairs with decorative backs and fabric seats, and a stylish china cabinet or hutch. However, dining rooms can have a more rustic look-for example, a table and benches made out of pine. Hand-painted dining room sets give a homey look. Victorian-style dining rooms are often beautifully ornate; more modern dining rooms showcase contemporary carvings in areas like the chair backs and legs of the table. Along with various shades of wood, dining rooms can also come in black, white, or other painted colors, or a mixture of painted colors and wood colors.
