With rising real estate costs, people are now selecting smaller homes, apartments or condominiums. However, small spaces can be a challenge when furnishing your room. Having a small room does not mean you cannot always have a beautiful dining area. The key is to maximize the space you have. With careful planning and the right dining room furniture, you can have a small dining area that is big on style!
Color Palette: Do not assume that because a color is your favorite, it will also look good on the walls of the dining room or create a harmonious whole with the dining room furniture. Also, when choosing a color palette, understand that what looks good in the day in natural light may not necessarily look as good or even look the same in artificial light. In general, colors such as reds, oranges and yellows work to create a more formal atmosphere while colors such as golden or creamy yellow, terracotta, wine, burgundy or dusty rose are considered ideal for a dining room. These colors are said to stimulate the appetite and also have been shown to promote enjoyable conversation.
A buffet sideboard usually has two doors on front that open to reveal a good amount of storage space. It may also have a couple of drawers. Some designs include a wine rack in the base of the buffet. This storage space is excellent for storing special occasion dishes, tableware, and linens.
