When considering dining room design in your home, you primarily have the décor and furniture to consider. These factors will largely be influenced by the size of the room, and whether or not you have windows. The room you use primarily for eating in might not in fact be your dining room, since many eat in the kitchen as a family and use the main dining area for guests and dinner parties.
The most important-and biggest-item in the dining room is the table. Tables can be round, oval, or rectangular. Some tables are rectangular in shape but rounded at the corners. Most tables have four legs, but some rest on a pedestal in the center. Dining room chairs are the objects that lend the most variety to the living room. They often define the "color" of the living room by the shade of the seat cushion, and the decorations on the chair say a lot about the style of the room. Most dining rooms have either four chairs for smaller tables, or six chairs for larger tables, though some sets have eight. Usually, two of these chairs have armrests, though there are exceptions to this too: in some sets, all of the chairs have armrests; in others, none do. The final essential item in a dining room is a hutch. These come in a huge variety of styles: some look more like a huntboard, others look a lot like dressers, and others have cabinet space above that may or may not have doors. Some hutches include mirrors or beautiful handles. Some are large and rectangular, others are shaped like a book case, and some are built to fit into a corner.
One of the most daunting tasks many people face comes when doing the dining room decor. Other than the sitting room, this is one place where when one is picking out the colors, furniture, fabrics and flooring, one has to be extra careful. This is because there's so much that happens in this room.
Serving Carts: A serving cart is a portable and versatile piece of furniture. This can be wheeled from kitchen to dining room or from living room to dining room as required. One can use it to serve food on to the dining table or snacks in the living room. It can also double as a portable, mobile bar or a drinks trolley for when entertaining guests. Serving carts are useful for a variety of purposes and in a variety of situations.
When you are stenciling a border around the edge of a room, or maybe adding a chair rail accent stencil, you need to lay down a guideline to make sure that you stay straight. You can measure and draw a light line with a pencil, or you can snap a chalk line. Then you have a reference point to position your stencil as you work your way around the room. You will be painting your stencil design and then removing your stencil while the paint is still wet. So be careful not to smudge the design as you remove the stencil. Then just move your stencil to the next spot along your line, and stencil the next segment. If you are doing more than one color in your stencil, you should lay down the stencil for the first color, and then when it is dry, you can go back and stencil in your second color.
