Color is one of the biggest concerns when it comes to the feeling you get when you enter the room. Light colors are often the best choice because they will make the space look bigger and brighter. Try using light shades ranging from white to brown choosing something that compliments your furniture is the best. If your space is small try adding a mirror on one of the walls to give it the illusion of being bigger while adding a decorative touch.
Another strategy with chairs is to create extra seating by using a thin bench that goes along one wall. Most of the time the bench can remain where it is but when you have guests over you can pull the bench out and add it to one end of the table for extra seating.
Add Additional Furniture- You will be amazed at how quickly a wine rack or a small side table can add depth to a room. Choose furniture that is in made in a similar style, but remember that it doesn't have to match. Different types and shades of wood can all work together to create a unique look for your room.
